Talbot Bay, in the Buccaneer Archipelago, is home to the iconic Horizontal Waterfalls, a naturally occurring pinch-neck rapid which attracts thousands of tourists every year. Through the second, and smaller of the two gaps, is the inland sea, a body of water which is fed by an inundation of sea water, and freshwater from Poulton Creek. At low tide one can view corals in Talbot Bay, and humpback whales are occasional visitors. Talbot Bay is also well known for Turtle Reef, a huge fringing reef which is rich in marine life, and Cyclone Creek with its dramatic geological formations.
